While the Women enjoyed the traditional King's Birthday VAFA bye weekend the men's teams, impacted by a lengthy injury list and player unavailability, played top of the table Wattle Park on their home deck for the second time in 4 weeks. Despite heavy losses, there were many positives to emerge from both games as the Trobers fought it out to the final siren and increased their scores from their previous Round 5 encounter, and look forward to next week's Triple Header back on Tony Sheehan Oval.
With both Men's teams having their bye weekend off, it was the Women taking on Whitefriars on their home deck. The Trober effort, pressure and chase was evident throughout the match, however the final margin was 39 points in favour of the home side.

Our first home Triple Header saw both Men’s teams score comfortable wins over Albert Park before the Women’s 2025 Premiership flag was unfurled prior to their twilight game against Port Melbourne Chargers. A tough start to the 2026 season with none of our teams making the winner’s list. The Reserve Men welcomed 7 new players to their lineup and matched Hawthorn in the first half before dropping away in the second half. There were 6 senior debutants and the game followed a similar pattern to the Reserves with a strong showing in the first half taking it right up to The Hawks but ultimately going down by 45 points. After being promoted TWO divisions into Premier B the women played Old Yarra Cobras and despite the final score, there were plenty of positives!
On a typical Melbourne afternoon (gale force winds, driving rain, sunshine, and repeat!) the Senior Women outplayed Parkside to win in spectacular fashion and claim the Club’s 10th senior premiership and the Women’s second flag, while earlier in the day the Reserve Men’s brave finals campaign ended after they were defeated by Richmond Central in their Preliminary Final.
