coach huss

Despite season 2021 ultimately being cancelled, our Reserve Men sung the song plenty of times thanks to our new dynamic coaching duo of Grant ‘Huss’ Dowler and Michael Correnti.

After finishing third with just three loses for the season, a young Trober team with veteran club legend Jordy O’Brien down forward, looked destined for a big finals campaign but will have to wait until 2022 for that opportunity.

We are excited to announce that Michael Correnti will continue as our Reserve Men’s Coach in 2022. After a very enjoyable year coaching alongside Huss, he will go it alone in 2022, as Huss moves to Bendigo to start the next chapter of his life.

While we are sad to lose Huss, a true Trober legend, we are excited to see what the future has instore for him. A Life Member of LTUFC and a lifetime of contributions to match, including: Senior Men’s Captain 2013-15, Club Secretary 2017, Men’s Team of the Decade 2006-17, John Dumaresq Best Club-person 2013, Bob Segrave Outstanding Service 2016, La Trobe University Outstanding Service 2018, and other committee roles. Huss’ contribution over the past decade has been unmatched and no doubt you will find another footy club to contribute greatly to in Bendigo.

We look forward to seeing Mick take our boys further in 2022 with a focus and ability to help create a whole playing group, sense of belonging and develop players into senior players.

We wish both Mick and Huss all the best going forward!
