Match Summary

Round 2 saw the Trober women head to Waverley Oval to take on De La Salle in what was an anticipated to be a hot contest. Jess Lowry and Teresa D’Angelo started off from where they left off last week with getting the first clearance out of the middle. The Trobers maintained possession in their forward half for most of the first half but were unable to capitalize on the scoreboard. Swifty kicked a beautiful running goal after running straight on from the interchange to get a handball from Courtney Donohue.

The back six held up strong all day, with Kaitlyn Ritchie a brick wall in defense, marking everything that came into the defensive 50. Jazmyn Websdale had an outstanding debut with fierce tackling pressure and Ella Lauritsen had a beautiful rundown tackle on the wing.

Courtney kicked a goal from the goal square  in the last quarter to put us within 7 points but unfortunately we went down in a hard fought contest.

We look forward to taking on Wattle Park in our first game at Tony Sheehan Oval.

Unfortunately, Steph Castagnini went down with a broken leg and we wish her a speedy recovery.
