Back into Round 3 after the Easter Break and another early morning start away from home!
We entered the game with 20 players, including two fill ins who hadn’t played before. Thank you to Emily and Jess for helping out!
The first quarter was a slow start for us as we hunted the ball but Power House were very well set up around the contest and were able to clear it with ease. Unfortunately, after the first quarter Summer Finn had to come off with a wrist injury and went off to hospital at halftime. We all wish her a speedy recovery!
We discussed at the quarter time break that our effort was low and we needed to bring some more hunger and endeavour to the contest. The second quarter was much better and saw us fight back into the game and control parts of the quarter.
The third quarter saw further improvement as we added another 2 goals to draw within 4 points. This set up a fourth quarter comeback that unfortunately we couldn’t finish off with a win – the final margin being 6 points!
Kate Bond was brilliant in the midfield and managed to add another 5 goals. Teresa D’Angelo won plenty of clearances and applied wonderful pressure while Steph Castagnini was terrific in defense, setting everyone up and intercepting a lot of the play.
Overall it was a good effort and shows what we can do when we have a full team.
