Round 8 Match Report (2022)

The Trober Senior Women were back at Tony Sheehan Oval to play AJAX for the second time this season and we knew this would once again be a hot contest.

The vibes were up early and effort was our main focus for the day. From the very first bounce, the tackling pressure was up and nothing was coming easy for the visiting team.

Teresa D’Angelo was back to her best after missing the last two games. She led from the front and was best on for the day. Molly O’Brien brought a lot of pressure and found plenty of the ball and Elise Freeman continued to repel out of defense. The back six were busy all day and continued to hold up strong, led by Tayla Dando at full back.

Ineka Hart converted our only goal of the day in the third quarter with a set shot after Swifty found her on the lead inside 50.

After a hard fought game, we fell short by just 3 points but it was the most our women have fought all season and hopefully we can continue to bring that effort moving forward and can convert games into wins.
